Shade Tree Porch Swing Details
The Shade Tree Porch Swing is constructed of kiln dried 4/4 & 8/4 Cypress, Mahogany or Teak. The seat and back braces are very substantial and are finished out to about 1 ½”. These woods are easily maintained, with or without a finish, and are naturally insect, weather and rot resistant.

To ensure durability and a classic appearance, the Porch Swing features stainless steel hardware, brass thru hull fittings in the arms, to protect the wood from being damaged by the hanging chain, and wood plugged screw holes for smooth surfaces.  3/8” Carriage Bolts are used to secure the back and the seat of the swing, providing a very strong and sturdy support. These same Carriage Bolts are also provided to secure the chain to the swing.

Zinc Plated chain is included (3/16” diameter, 24 feet) with each porch swing, as well as the required hanging hardware. If you live in a coastal area, you may want to consider eventually replacing this chain with stainless steel chain to prevent corrosion and rust from the salt air. The back and seat of the porch swing are assembled from rounded, smooth slats of wood, curving at just the right angles to roll with your seat and back as you swing. All screws in the seat and back are countersunk and wood-plugged then sanded smooth.

Choose a color to match your house or outdoor space. You are not locked into only a couple of color choices. Go to your nearest Sherwin Williams paint store and choose your favorite color of paint or solid stain. The Porch Swing is shipped fully assembled. Personal delivery is available in the Myrtle Beach and Columbia areas of South Carolina and during certain months in Bay and Walton counties, Florida and in and around Atlanta, Georgia. Please call for details.
